I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

Random, small fact about me:

The first song I ever purchased on iTunes was Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, “O’ Children”.

I love this song.  I like reading through the lyrics because every time I do I get a different picture of what is going on.  The meaning doesn’t change for me, but I picture an older man and a young man having a conversation and the situation is always a little different.

And here they are:

Pass me that lovely little gun
My dear, my darling one
The cleaners are coming, one by one
You don’t even want to let them start

They are knocking now upon your door
They measure the room, they know the score
They’re mopping up the butcher’s floor
Of your broken little heart

O children

Forgive us now for what we’ve done
It started out as a bit of fun
Here, take these before we run away
The keys to the gulag

O children
Lift up your voice, lift up your voice
Children
Rejoice, rejoice

Here comes Frank and poor old Jim
They’re gathering round with all my friends
We’re older now, the light is dim
And you are only just beginning

O children

We have the answer to all your fears
It’s short, it’s simple, it’s crystal clear
It’s round about, it’s somewhere here
Lost amongst our winnings

O children
Lift up your voice, lift up your voice
Children
Rejoice, rejoice

The cleaners have done their job on you
They’re hip to it, man, they’re in the groove
They’ve hosed you down, you’re good as new
And they’re lining up to inspect you

O children

Poor old Jim’s white as a ghost
He’s found the answer that we lost
We’re all weeping now, weeping because
There ain’t nothing we can do to protect you

O children
Lift up your voice, lift up your voice
Children
Rejoice, rejoice

Hey little train! We’re all jumping on
The train that goes to the Kingdom
We’re happy, Ma, we’re having fun
And the train ain’t even left the station

Hey, little train! Wait for me
I once was blind but now I see
Have you left a seat for me
Is that such a stretch of the imagination

Hey little train! Wait for me!
I was held in chains but now I’m free
I’m hanging in there, don’t you see
In this process of elimination

Hey little train! We’re all jumping on
The train that goes to the Kingdom
We’re happy, Ma, we’re having fun
It’s beyond my wildest expectation

Hey little train! We are all jumping on
The train that goes to the Kingdom
We’re happy, Ma, we’re having fun
And the train ain’t even left the station

Hey little train! Don’t wait for me
Once I was blind but now I see

La belle et le bad boy...

La Belle - One of the songs I’ve been playing for a few days now.  You will recognize it if you ever watched SATC.

Tattoo

I am really in the mood to finish my tattoo and start on another new one but I can’t spend money on that now.  Very sad!

#christine

From the office next door I can hear Christine on the phone with her bank.  Apparently she just realized that they are (and have been since January of this year) charging her $2/month for her statements.

She is so mad that it is comical to me.  Says she hasn’t signed anything authorizing this.  How can I turn this into a cruel joke?

That would definitely be my iPhone!

Alright. It’s time for some venting!

Someone I know gave me a lot of make up.  I was thrilled as I love to wear make up, yet refuse to spend money on cheap, overpriced, blue, shimmery, silvery, grayish, crap eye shadow.

One thing I know about make up (or at least my face) is that natural colors are the way to go (as this is the case with most women) - especially during the DAY!  I hate when I go into a bank and see a 20 something year old woman wearing shimmer eye shadow with her work polo.  I think it is utterly tacky.

I wish all the women of Mississippi could understand that it is okay to jazz up your cosmetic routine a bit but a few things must be taken into account first:

  • brows MUST be in order before crazy make up is applied
  • time of day - anytime before 9 pm is foolish
  • lighting (I personally would not be caught dead in any light with what I saw on this one woman’s eyelids the other day, but to each his own)…
  • the application - when one does decide to splash on some color the result should not evoke this response from others: “Wow, she is wearing blue eye shadow”.  It should be something more along the lines of: “Wow, her eye shadow looks so nice (and subtle)”.

So that is how you wear any kind of eye shadow that is not a neutral color.  Next time I will talk about girls with orange tans, or an obsession with the “boost” feature on Picnik.
